"By the name of Winship" Rare 18th Century Coat of Arms

C1790-1795 watercolor on paper depicting an anchor, Helmut and an American Naval vessel under sail as the central figure. Attributed to John Cole, Sr. who was listed as a hearldry painter from 1788-1813 in the Boston City Directory.
The Winship family, from the Brighton area of Boston, was prominent in the shipping industry after the Revolution and through the early 19th Century. Condition is good with moderate toning and minor edge tears.
